Douglas E. Baer Conference Travel Award

Dr. Douglas Baer was a Professor in the Faculty of Social Science for two decades. His own research included the comparative cross-national study of voluntary association participation, politics and ideology in Canadian society, cultural differences between Americans and Canadians, and patterns of social inequality in Canada. He taught primarily in the area of quantitative research methods.

Dr. Baer is the founding Academic Director of the University of Victoria Branch Statistics Canada Research Data Centre and was a former President of the University of Victoria Faculty Association.
