The Canadian Federation of University Women was founded in 1908. It is a voluntary, non-partisan, non-profit, self-funded club of approximately 250 members. They are active in supporting higher education for women and in advocating for women's rights.

These awards have been established by the CFUW Victoria Scholarship and Bursary Committee through the generosity of its members.
