Honorary Degrees
The Senate Committee on Honorary Degrees and Other Forms of Recognition considers recommendations to the Senate of candidates for Honorary Degrees.
Awarding an Honorary Degree is a wonderful way for the university to recognize and honour individuals who have achieved great things and celebrate what we value. In the past, these degrees have been awarded to such honourees as:
Robert Bateman Grand Chief Edward John (Akile Cho'oh)
Diana Krall Stephen Point
Carol Shields Silken Laumann

The Senate Committee on Honorary Degrees and Other Forms of Recognition welcomes suggestions of worthy candidates to receive an Honorary Degree. Nominations may be submitted at any time.
If you wish you nominate someone, please send a completed nomination package to the Office of the University Secretary, Room A138, Administrative Services Building, care of the Associate University Secretary.
