Senate ad hoc committees

Under the authority of the University Act , the Senate has the power to establish any committees it considers necessary to address matters of academic governance.  Ad hoc committees may be struck to address issues falling outside of the authority of the standing committees.

Ad hoc Senate Committee on Academic Health Programming

At its May 2023 meeting, Senate approved the Terms of Reference for an Ad hoc Senate Committee on Academic Health Programming.

The role of the Ad-hoc Senate Committee on Academic Health Programing is to explore and determine new structures for health programming at UVic. Consistent with the university’s visions for health programing as articulated by the UVic Health Initiative concept paper Aspiration 2030 and the draft Strategic Plan, this initiative aims to lift up all Faculties across the university while also serving vital community needs.

Further information, including the terms of reference for the Ad hoc Senate Committee on Academic Health Programming, may be found on the Vice-President Academic and Provost website, Exploring new structures for UVic health programing.
