Department's Teaching Excellence Award for Chemistry Graduate Students

The Department of Chemistry has created its own award to recognize and encourage excellent teaching performances by our current graduate students. Excellence can come in all forms of teaching - lab demonstrations, tutorials, drop-in centre help, educational activities. The grad adviser calls for nominations from faculty and senior lab instructors around November of each year, and the faculty members of the Chemistry Graduate Studies Committee select the winner(s).

Candidates for the department award must be registered graduate students at UVic who teach in the Chemistry department.

Andy Farquharson Award

The Andy Farquharson Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Teaching is for registered graduate students who have excelled in their teaching during the preceding calendar year. Any form of teaching within the university may be included. The award is named after a past director of UVic's Learning and Teaching Centre.

Each department can put forward one nominee. The grad adviser calls for nominations from faculty and senior lab instructors around November/December of each year, and the faculty members of the Chemistry Graduate Studies Committee select the department nominee.
