Copyright and Review Notice

Important information for all CourseSpaces users

You must comply with the Canadian Copyright Act, 1985 and the University of Victoria license agreements. Nearly all text, images, audio, video and other information created by third parties, including material found elsewhere on the internet, are subject to copyright protection.

You may be able to use some copyright protected material under one of the fair dealing exceptions without infringing copyright. The university’s Fair Dealing Guidelines provide some guiding principles for copying and communicating a copyright-protected work and it is not to substitute for the purchase of the work that was copied or communicated.

Periodically, a random selection of academic electronic resources will be reviewed without prior notice to ensure that the content posted does not infringe copyright law.
