Visual storytelling: A glimpse into world-changing research

Bob Wright Centre (BWC) A104
March 6
7:00pm - 8:30pm

Close to home and around the globe, social sciences researchers tackle challenges and find solutions that make our world a better place. Using visual storytelling techniques, researchers from the Faculty of Social Sciences will take you around the globe with their short photo stories about community-engaged research. Victoria city councillor and spoken-word poet Jeremy Loveday hosts the evening, introducing you to community-engaged researchers from anthropology, economics, environmental studies, geography, political science, psychology and sociology.

Presenters: Alexandrine Boudreault-Fournier (Department of Anthropology), Elisabeth Gugl (Department of Economics), Jim Tanaka (Department of Psychology), Darcy Matthews (School of Environmental Studies), Cecilia Benoit (Department of Sociology and UVic’s Centre for Addictions Research BC), Sarah Wiebe (Department of Political Science) and Maycira Costa (Department of Geography)
