Surplus
Help recycle surplus assets
The Ring
Purchasing Services and University Systems are teaming up with Facilities Management to provide a sustainable process for handling, reusing and recycling surplus assets on campus. These new procedures will help meet an important goal of the Sustainability Action Plan: Campus Operations 2009–2014 to divert 75 per cent of campus waste from the landfill by 2012. Guidelines on the new procedures for surplus assets—including furniture, computers, equipment and supplies.
UVic surplus goes to charity
The Ring
When the university decides to do some early spring cleaning, local charities benefit. On March 2, UVic provided several bookshelves, desks, cabinets, TVs and tables plus over 700 new and 1,200 used surplus fitted sheets to the Salvation Army.
