Community achievement award to Bernie Pauly

Dr. Bernie Pauly, associate professor and associate director of research and scholarship with UVic’s School of Nursing, was awarded the 2016 BC Community Achievement Award by Premier Christy Clark and Keith Mitchell, chair of the BC Achievement Foundation.

Pauly, who was named in April as Island Health’s Research Scholar in Residence, is also a scientist with the Centre for Addictions Research of BC, a member of the Renewal of Public Health Services Research Team and priority lead for the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness. Known for her advocacy in heath equity, Pauly upholds strong ties with social agencies across BC which speaks to her passion and ability for advancing social justice.
