UVic science, research and engineering gets a boost

From understanding aquatic soundscapes to lessen noise pollution to improving healthcare through the study of medical physics, University of Victoria researchers received more than $9 million in federal government support to advance their big ideas, discoveries and innovations.

François-Philippe Champagne, minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, made the announcement on Tuesday through the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s Discovery Grants program, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and via new or renewed Canada Research Chairs at institutions across Canada.
