National Consortium for Indigenous Economic Development

June 30, 2026

From 2014-2026, the National Consortium for Indigenous Economic Development (NCIED) advanced Indigenous economic development through research, education and partnership-building, grounded in Indigenous knowledge and self-determination. Through its work, NCIED supported meaningful dialogue, strengthened relationships and helped build capacity in Indigenous communities and beyond.

The University of Victoria acknowledges, with gratitude, the contributions of Indigenous Peoples and communities throughout the NCIED’s history. While this work has now concluded at UVic, the knowledge, connections and insights generated through its efforts will continue to inform and support future initiatives in the area of Indigenous economic development, both locally and nationally.
