Award-winning journalist Coleen Christie to emcee Humanitas Awards

Award-winning journalist and Humanities alumna Coleen Christie will emcee the Humanitas Awards Gala on March 15. 

Christie, a Vancouver-based television journalist who anchors a variety of newscasts, graduated from UVic with a BA in English, History and Art History.

Tickets are still available for the Humanitas Awards, featuring keynote speaker the Honorable Roméo Dallaire, who will receive the faculty's first-ever Public Humanist Award. Latin American Studies and Environmental Studies alumna Ashli Akins will receive the Emerging Humanist Award. And Ursula K. Le Guin will be honoured as our Historic Humanist.

The gala includes complimentary bar and live music from UVic's student jazz ensemble.

One of Victoria's top caterers, House of Boateng, will provide canapes and food stations including an interactive sushi bar, as well as a pasta station.
