Congratulation to the UVic, Experimental Cosmic Ray and Diagnostic Scientific Satellite, (ECOSat) team who under the supervision of Dr. Afzal Suleman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, placed first in the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (CSDC), against six other Canadian Universities. The competition involved building a small, operational "cubesat" satellite. The student team designed the electronics and constructed their own circuits and mechanical assemblies. This victory secures a launch to space for the satellite that the team has been working on for over two years.
