Effective 5 hours ago: This job has been postponed and will be rescheduled to another time. New Informed message will be posted at that time.
Today, at 16:00, a passive EDC1 node of Exchange 2013 Mailbox group will be temporarily disabled by shutting down cluster services. This is required so database storage disks can be created and mounted.
This work will not affect active mailbox node and will not cause outage to clients.

Effective 4 hours ago: Many UVic workstations run Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) anti-virus software that protects them from viruses, malware, and malicious activities. A security vulnerability has been discovered in the most currently deployed version of SEP, which has necessitated the need to upgrade the SEP client on these workstations.
Workstations that are running the managed version of the SEP client will be upgrade automatically by the SEP management server. Departments directly supported by University Systems have been placed in to four groups. One group will be automatically upgraded each evening starting tonight (August 19, 2014) and ending on Friday, August 22. Each department will be notified by their support staff the day of their upgrade and encouraged to save their work and leave their workstation turned on at the end of the work day.
Support Persons for departments not directly supported by University Systems are being contacted with this information, and will be encouraged to opt-in to this upgrade process.
Clients that are running the unmanaged SEP client can download the client update from the University Systems website here:
