Migrate Primary Contact Center to New Hardware

Effective date: December 22, 2014 at 06:00:00 pm(15 hours from now)

Effective 15 hours from now: Network Services maintains two Voice Contact Center servers that provide menuing and ACD Queue functionality for the campus. We will be moving the primary service to new hardware on December 22, 2014 starting at 6:00pm.

The standby server will be handling contact center service during this time.

This Informed will be updated when the migration is complete.

Any problems arising from this change should be directed to switch@uvic.ca.

web.uvic.ca, webmail, student email outage for OS patching

Effective 19 hours ago: 09:00 - Student email, webmail, imap.uvic.ca and pop.uvic.ca is back up
09:30 - web.uvic.ca is back up

he student email server will be OS/firmware patched. This will cause an up to 2 hour outage which will effect the following services:

imap.uvic.ca and pop.uvic.ca
webmail
web.uvic.ca

MailMan Server Operating System Update

Effective date: December 23, 2014 at 04:30:00 pm(1 day from now)

Effective 1 day from now: At 1630 until 1700 on December 23rd, we will be performing operating system updates to the MailMan mailing list server.

Mail sent to lists will be delayed until the service is brought back online. No mail will be lost as a result of the outage.

This informed will be updated when the service is back up.

asc3msb233 switch replacement Monday Dec 22 2014 8AM

Effective 5 hours from now: On Monday Dec 22 2014 at 8AM, Network Services will be replacing a suspected defective switch in MSB, asc3msb233. Downtime for this switch is expected to be 15 minutes.

Computer Help Desk Web Tools and Informed Upgrade - Dec 22

Effective 4 hours from now: On Monday, December 22nd at 7:00am, we will be moving the Computer Help Desk tools and Informed to new hosting infrastructure. During this move, all web tools hosted at helpdesk.uvic.ca/tools and informed.uvic.ca will be unavailable. We anticipate that this outage will span from 7:00am - 7:45am.

Patching of Call Manager 2 Hardware

Effective 15 hours from now: Network Services maintains a cluster of three Call Managers to handle voice services on campus. We will be patching the server firmware and management software for Call Manager 2 December 22, 2014 starting at 18:00. Call Manager 2 will be offline during the patching and voice services will be handled by the other two Call Managers during that time.

Scheduled Server Maintenance - B-Link
