University Systems makes every effort to inform the university community of any issues affecting the services that we offer. Messages regarding planned maintenance or unexpected outages of our services are shown below.

Effective date: July 08, 2015 at 04:00:00 am(2 days from now)
Effective 2 days from now: A 1.5 hour outage of most computing services will be required on Wednesday, July 8 from 4:00 AM to 5:30 AM in order to implement network upgrades. Research networking will not be affected.
This outage will include: file shares hosted on netdrive.uvic.ca or \uvicstorage, CourseSpaces, student email (webmail.uvic.ca), FAST, Banner, My page and several other UVic websites.
Microsoft Exchange email and calendaring, SharePoint, and www.uvic.ca will remain available during these upgrades.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this service disruption.

Effective 1 day from now: DNS2 will be OS patched and rebooted. This will cause a brief outage with the dns services on DNS2 during the reboot.
