NETS: Outage: New UPS install in LIB 017 - 7:15 AM on April 26 2017

Effective date: April 26, 2017 at 07:15:00 am(23 hours from now)

Effective 23 hours from now: Network Services will be moving aggregate switches and voice gateways over to a new UPS system in LIB 017. The building will experience an outage while the aggregate switches reboot. All network (voice, wired, wireless) will be down while the switches reboot.

Work will be completed by 7:45 AM.

EDC1 NetApp updates

Effective 9 hours from now: We will be applying OS/firmware updates to the EDC1 NetApp (disk7) cluster. Not impact is expected. Time to completion is approximately 2 hours.

EDC2 NetApp updates

Effective 3 days from now: We will be applying OS/firmware updates to the EDC2 NetApp (disk14) cluster. Time to completion is approximately 3 hours.

During the upgrade, CIFS clients (home.uvic.ca & *.storage.uvic.ca) may experience a very brief interruption in service. To minimize the possibility of losing work in progress, save your work often or avoid using the service during the update window. If you do experience a brief interruption, Windows clients should reconnect automatically but MacOS clients may need to reconnect manually.

NETS: Phone VLAN updates in LIB and MCL at 7:15 AM on April 25, 2017

Effective 12 minutes ago: Network services is updating the VOIP VLAN configuration for network switches in LIB and MCL at 7:15 AM on April 25, 2017.

Phones will momentarily reset while their configuration is updated. Network ports will momentarily reset as the new VOIP VLAN is applied.

Work will be completed by 8 AM.
