Technology Solutions Centre

The purpose of the Technology Solutions Centre (TSC) is to provide assistance to faculty and staff with institutional technology acquisitions. Faculty and staff interested in acquiring computers are encouraged to contact the Technology Solutions Centre, where trained staff can assess requirements, recommend solutions, assist with acquiring computer equipment, provide demonstrations, and answer questions regarding desktop and laptop computer configurations.

Update to Institutional Apple Purchase: Apple has changed the process for ordering Apple computers and equipment. All purchases must be made through a UVic-specific online store. In response to this new requirement, University Systems and Purchasing Services have developed a new process to facilitate purchases of Apple computers and equipment at educational pricing.

Update to Pro-D/CAF Technical Approval: If you have been directed to the Technology Solutions Centre to receive technical approval for a Professional Development (Pro D) or Computer Acquisition Fund (CAF) reimbursement, please read the Technical Approval Requirements for Computer Equipment Reimbursements document. We strongly recommend requesting technical approval prior to purchasing equipment as computer hardware not approved by the TSC will not be reimbursed by Accounting.

Update to AD2515 and FM5105 Technical Approval: If you have been directed to the Technology Solutions Centre to receive technical approval for an institutional purchase (this includes equipment purchased with research grant money), please read the Institutional Acquisition and Standardization of Information Technology Devices (AD2515) and Purchasing Services Policy (FM5105) Activity Flow Diagram.
