Complete. SAS Production Upgrade and Migration, Thu 23-Feb-2017, 9:30am - 5:30pm

Effective 15 hours ago: Update: The migration and upgrade is complete and the SAS portal and metadata servers are available again. We are continuing to test and monitor for issues. If you are experiencing any issues as a result of the migration please contact ptsadmin@uvic.ca

SAS Production, including the SAS Portal sas.uvic.ca and the SAS Metadata Server sasmeta.uvic.ca will be migrated to new servers and an upgraded version on Thursday February 23rd, starting at 9:30am. The upgrade will take up to 8 hours to complete.

During the migration, SAS will be unavailable for all users.

Custom reports created prior to February 2nd have already been migrated to the new environment. If you have any custom reports in the current SAS environment that were created after February 2nd, please let us know the names of the custom reports at ptsadmin@uvic.ca and we will assist you in migrating your reports to the new server.

This message will be updated when the migration is complete and SAS is available again.

NETS: Moving 2 Vlans to Admin 7700 Routers

Effective 17 hours ago: *UPDATE* Work scheduled for this morning was not successful. Will reschedule for a future window.

Network Services is working in coordination with DSS to move two vlans from the 6509 admin router in EDC2 to new Nexus 7700 routers. These moves will also include one host moving from each vlan to the new infrastructure.

Work is scheduled to begin at 7:30am and will be completed by 8:30am.

No impact is expected.

*COMPLETE* BCNET Card Installs on MLXe Router

UVic technicians will be installing cards on BCNETs behalf into the MLXe research device tomorrow morning beginning at 6:30am. No impact is expected. Work will be completed by 7:30am

Service unavailable early Saturday morning for maintenance

Effective 1 day from now: Required system maintenance will be applied to the jabber server beginning at 0900 hrs on Saturday February 25th 2017.

Service affected:
jabber.uvic.ca


This service should be restored by 0930 hrs

This outage is to install a new jabber server.
