EURAXESS Science Slam Contest for Researchers

EURAXESS Science Slam North America 2014

The Science Slam contest gives North American-based researchers the chance to showcase their projects to peers and the public in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.  It is open to PhD students, postdocs, and professors of all nationalities and from all fields of study.  The winner will be awarded a free trip to Europe to attend a science communication workshop along with winners of the other EURAXESS Science Slams organized in ASEAN, Brazil, China, India, and Japan.  The winner will also have the opportunity to visit a European research institution of her/her choice.  Researchers apply by uploading a short video (3 minute maximum) that creatively presents their research project to the world.  View the trailer and visit EURAXESS for more information.  Application deadline:  August 10, 2014.

CBIE 4th Annual Photo/Video Contest for Students

CBIE's 4th Annual Photo/Video Contest 2014

The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) invites students to share their stories of how study, research, or an internship abroad has enriched their life and work.  Students may submit a photo accompanied by a short testimonial or a video that clearly shows the transformative benefits of international study.  This contest is open to international and Canadian students.  Visit CBIE for submission guidelines and to view last year's winning photosSubmission deadline:  October 13, 2014.
