Education abroad committee
The Education Abroad Committee (EAC) is composed of faculty representatives and relevant staff members from units all over campus, and chaired by the Associate Director, Global Engagement.
The EAC is committed to enabling, empowering and supporting faculties with their international activities and goals, and to coordinating these strategies with the 2016 International Plan.
EAC reviews all international activities proposed by departments and faculties that include an education abroad or partnership component. This includes
- affiliations with other organizations and institutions that may take the form of an LOI, MOU, 2+2, dual/double degree, cotutelle or other agreement, and
- agreements covering any international experience in which a UVic student may participate as part of their degree program (i.e. international co-operative education, field school, exchange, study abroad, or similar opportunities that may, or may not, provide academic credit).
Proposal applications for international agreements are available from the Office of Global Engagement and must have the signature of the department chair and dean to be considered complete and eligible for EAC consideration.
Agreement renewals are also managed via the EAC.
EAC-approved agreements at UVic are signed by the AVP Student Affairs and the VP Academic and Provost.
EAC 2017 meeting dates are as follows;
- January 20, April 3, May 16, July 25, September 26 and November 28.
The deadline for submissions is 2 weeks prior to each meeting.
We look forward to working with you.
