Unpacking gender in politics
The University of Victoria and Equal Voice have partnered to host two events designed to address gender disparities in political leadership. Women Leading Change in Politics brings together inspiring leaders together with the community to share stories of leading change in politics as well as provide tools for change.
Jeff Reading appointed to Order of Canada
Jeffrey Reading has spent more than two decades championing the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples across Canada, globally, and significantly, as a scholar at the University of Victoria. In June, Reading was appointed as a member of the Order of Canada.
HIV In My Day
Four decades after the start of a pandemic that has claimed 40 million lives, University of Victoria researchers are putting the stories of British Columbians who lived through the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the spotlight. HIV In My Day, a community-based oral history project led by School of Public Health and Social Policy Associate Professor Nathan Lachowsky, captures the stories of 120 long-term HIV survivors and caregivers.
