Theatre grad already in good company

Few students would be proud of being called a scam artist, but theatre grad Max Johnson is—just note the alternate spelling. Johnson, who has been working for local professional theatrical company Theatre SKAM since 2011 (associates are charmingly dubbed “SKAM artists”), is graduating this June with a double major in writing and theatre. And the practical experience he learned at Phoenix Theatre has made him a valued member of SKAM’s team.

Temporary online jobs site launched

April 8, 2014 - The Ring

Due to technical difficulties with uHire, a temporary online job posting and application system has been introduced. A new permanent online job management system is expected to be launched in summer 2014, which will greatly improve the experience of those applying for employment at UVic as well as administrators and hiring committee members.

UVic named a top diversity employer

February 13, 2014 - The Ring

The University of Victoria has been named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for the third year in a row. The winners of the 2014 competition were announced Feb. 10, recognizing 55 organizations across the country for a range of exceptional initiatives to attract and retain employees from diverse communities.
