Peter B. Gustavson School of Business

The following University of Victoria expert is available to media to discuss how COVID-19 exposed the fragility of conventional global supply chains, and the role businesses and governments can play in transforming them, as published in The Conversation Canada today.
Adel Guitouni (Business) is an expert in global supply chain and distributed operations management. Guitouni can discuss how COVID-19 exposed the fragility of conventional global supply chains which are currently built to maximize financial efficiency and short-term economic growth. His research suggests that the best potential solutions to build more robust supply chains need to be founded on sustainability, collaboration, trust, increased visibility and diversification of sources of supply.
