Campus cycling plan process wraps up with open house

Following a year of consultation, the university’s inaugural Campus Cycling Plan is rolling to the finish line. Faculty, staff and students are invited to an open house in the University Centre lobby on Oct. 10 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. to provide feedback before the plan is presented to the Campus Planning Committee and President for approval later this fall.

The board is responsible for the management, administration and control of the property, revenue and business affairs of the university. We welcome the newly appointed chair and vice-chair and newly elected student members to the 2018–2019 board.

As lawmakers and social media companies scramble to find ways to stop the spread of fake news ahead of the US midterms, a UVic English professor is taking a close read of America’s political “God gap.” Chris Douglas’s research examines the rise of the Christian right in American politics and society since the 1970s through an often-overlooked medium—literature.
