Obtain a mobile device
All mobile device orders (which inculdes cellular devices and iPads) require departmental approval and must adhere to the university's Signing Authority Policy (FM5100). In order for the university to collaborate its efforts and obtain benefits (hardware rates, rate plans, and volume discounts) all cellular phone purchases and contracts must be made through the Technology Solutions Centre.
For UVic email and calendaring access, University Systems supports the following phones:
- iPhone
- Android (version 4 and newer)
These phones support Microsoft ActiveSync, which allows you to configure your Exchange email and calendar. Please note that BlackBerry devices are not officially supported by University Systems.
