Connect (SharePoint) Will be Restricted to On-Campus and VPN on September 2

Starting on September 2, access to Connect (SharePoint) will be restricted to on-campus and UVic Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections only.  This change is taking place to protect the information stored in Connect by restricting access to trusted networks.  If you are accessing Connect after September 2 from off-campus, you will need to connect to the UVic VPN service first.  If you use Connect from on-campus or use the UVic VPN service for remote access, you do not need to make any changes.

This change will apply to Connect sites, document libraries, meeting sites, and OneDrive for Business hosted on connect.uvic.ca and my.connect.uvic.ca.  This message has been sent to all active employees who may use a Connect site. 

If you also use Connect to collaborate with external users who are UVic affiliates , these users will also need to use UVic VPN and UVic Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to access Connect.  Affiliates will not receive this communication; please inform the affiliates you collaborate with of this change.
