Congratulations to our MA alumna Meaghan Efford (currently PhD candidate at UBC). Meaghan is a co-author of a recent paper which this article "We Knew Vancouver’s Ecosystem Was Damaged. The Truth Is So Much Worse (Hakai Magazine) is about.

The article also cites Dr. Iain McKechnie's 2014 paper showing that unlike today, herring were consistently abundant in waters between Washington State and Alaska prior to colonization.
