February 17: Karoline Guelke, PhD candidate and Tourism in Highland Peru

RVSP: Jodie at jodie@uvic.ca.

This talk, based on Karoline's dissertation research, looks at the complexities of tourism development in a small Peruvian community. In particular, it will highlight the contributions of the photovoice method, discussing how pictures taken by local people reveal some of the specific ways in which gender, class and ethnicity are performed and how social inequalities are produced and negotiated.
