Need Practice? Try the SIELE Global Practice Exam. 

  • SIELE examinations are held at UVic, in-person only, using the CALL facility computer terminals.
  • The exam has a duration of 3.5 hours, including a 15-minute break.
  • Registration closes one week before the exam date.
  • UVic will not offer SIELE this summer.
  • UVic no longer offers the DELE exam.

¿Qué es SIELE?

SIELE es el Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española que certifica el grado de dominio del español a través de medios electrónicos para estudiantes y profesionales (Niveles A1 a C2).

Está promovido por el Instituto Cervantes, la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, la Universidad de Salamanca y la Universidad de Buenos Aires, lo que garantiza estándares de calidad y de buenas prácticas en la elaboración de las pruebas, y el uso de distintas variedades lingüísticas del mundo hispánico.

UVic ofrece el SIELE Global, que certifica el grado de competencia en la lengua española a través de cuatro pruebas: Comprensión de Lectura, Comprensión Auditiva, Expresión e Interacción Escritas y Expresión e Interacción Orales; y toma como referencia los niveles del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCER).

El certificado de dominio se emitirá tres semanas después del examen y estará disponible en tu cuenta de SIELE.

What is SIELE?

SIELE is the Servico Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española that certifies electronically the command of the Spanish language proficiency for students and professionals (Levels A1 to C2).

SIELE is promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad de Buenos Aires. These institutions guarantee the standards for quality and good practices in the creation of the tests and the use of diverse linguistic varieties in the Hispanic world.

UVic offers the SIELE Global exam, which certifies the degree of proficiency for the Spanish language with four tests: Reading and listening comprehension, Written expression and interaction and Spoken expression and interaction. The exam takes as a reference the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The proficiency certificate is issued three weeks after three weeks and will be available in your SIELE account.
