Delivery schedules

Program planning and processes

  • Practicum Application Process (all students need to review this information every year of the program.)
  • CYC 475 is only offered in one format per term and is scheduled as follows:
    • Summer Term: CYC 475 is offered online/face-to-face which includes a 10-day on-campus seminar that runs during the last two weeks of April;
    • September Term: CYC 475 is offered entirely online synchronous with twice weekly mandatory Zoom sessions for the duration of the term;
    • January Term: CYC 475 is offered entirely online synchronous with twice weekly mandatory Zoom sessions for the duration of the term.
  • Review the calendar for details of program requirements (scroll down). Read the preface carefully.
  • Plan for the  Academic writing requirement and University Transfer English.
  • Registration process for UVic courses
  • If you are new to the school you may also find getting started useful. Remember to retain your admissions information identifying the courses that you will need to take. This is particularly useful for transfer students.
  • Some CYC undergraduate courses may only be offered in an online format. This may have implications for student loan eligibility for international students.
  • All courses are subject to a minimum enrolment. Courses not meeting the minimum enrollment numbers may be cancelled.

Other considerations

  • Many positions across the human service sector require employees to have a class five drivers license. Acquiring this license takes a minimum of two years.  In order to keep your options open, consider beginning the process early.
