Facilities Management Implements Energy Strategies in Six Buildings

Facilities Management, Electrical Shop will implement energy strategies on Tuesday, December 22, 2014 in the Clearihue, Cornett, Elliott, Fraser, MacLaurin, and Phoenix Buildings. These energy strategies will involve the programming and scheduling of the lighting systems in building corridors. During non-peak hours, lighting is provided at a reduced level by twenty four (24) hour safety egress lighting for every corridor and stairwell. When the main system lights are switched off, these egress lights remain on for everyone’s safety.

This energy saving program will automatically shut off lights in the building at designated times, thus saving energy and cost for the university as well as further reducing our carbon footprint.
