Canada Post Job Action

Although negotiations are ongoing between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), Canada Post has advised that potential service disruption could impact delivery times. Job action could begin as early as May 22, 2025.

Time Sensitive Mail
To avoid delays, please take note of the following:

• Internal mail (inter-campus) will not be impacted by job action.
• External mail (mail leaving campus) may be impacted. For external mail requiring timely delivery, Canada Post strongly recommends mailout by May 9.
• After May 9, UVic departments will need to self-arrange mailouts through a courier of their choice.

Time Sensitive Packages
To avoid delays, Canada Post has provided these additional recommendations:

Eastern Canada: Send out by Friday, May 9

Local (within B.C.): Send out by Wednesday, May 14
