Up, up and away balloon mapping course, Michael Grilliot, geography

(February 16, 2016) - Fourth-year UVic geography students were at Cadboro Bay Beach yestrday for the start of a new class to monitor various factors including coastal erosion on Greater Victoria beaches, deploying equipment such as kite-and-balloon mapping instruments. The new course provides hands-on training and was developed by PhD candidate Michael Grilliot, with UVic geographer Ian Walker. A prominent photo and caption of the group in action appear at the top of page A3 today in the Times Colonist. (Print edition only)
