Judith Sayers new appointment
The Ring
Judith Sayers has been appointed as the visiting National Aboriginal Economic Development Chair. Sayers, well known for her work in economic development, serves as an adjunct professor with the Faculty of Law and an entrepreneur-in-residence at the Gustavson School of Business. The joint appointment enables her to continue the work begun by inaugural chair, James Hopkins, and allows students in both faculties to benefit from her experience and wisdom. In addition to teaching, in her expanded role she will organize a symposium on Aboriginal economic development and engage in other chair-related activities in BC and across Canada. Her appointment runs for one year, from May 1, 2012, to April 30, 2013.

The Ring
Judith Sayers plans to cover a lot of ground while serving as entrepreneur-in-residence and adjunct professor for the faculties of business and law. Sayers, known in the Hupacasath language as Kekinusuqs, will be on campus about five days each month to share her legal and entrepreneurial expertise with the UVic community.
