UVic EcoCAR team: 2nd Place

The UVic EcoCAR team placed second overall at the EcoCAR Challenge student competition in Toronto last month for the design of its fuel-efficient, low-emission car of the future. It is also the winner of the MathWorks Modeling Award and has placed highly in numerous other competitions. The competition marks the end of the first year of the EcoCAR Challenge where 14 US and three Canadian teams work to advance car design by using leading-edge automotive technologies that are also easy on the environment. In year two of the competition, teams will incorporate their unique powertrains into a Saturn VUE. In year three, teams must refine their vehicles to near-showroom quality. More: http://bit.ly/81zbO
