UVic Experts on Federal Election List 1

The following UVic experts are available to talk to the media about the federal election:

Dr. Matt James (Political Science) is willing to speak on the issues of social inequality, race and gender. He is an expert on protests and other forms of non-official politics. (250) 721-6489 or mattjame@uvic.ca
Dr. James will be away from his office June 1–8, 2004.

Dr. Michael Prince (Human and Social Development) is willing to discuss social programs, health care funding and tax policy. He is the acting dean of the faculty of human and social development and the Lansdowne professor in social policy.

Dr. Brock Smith (Business) is willing to speak on the issues of advertising, marketing and communications. He is expert in marketing strategy, entrepreneurship, and tourism and can address issues of negative advertising. (250) 721-6070 or smithb@uvic.ca
Dr. Smith will be away from his office May 28–June 6, 2004.

Dr. Reg Whitaker (Political Science) will speak to the media on issues of privacy/technology, Canadian politics generally, and voter apathy.
