Flag lowered to commemorate anniversary of Bamfield accident

On September 13, the university flags will be lowered in memory of two students, John and Emma, who passed away in a bus accident on the way to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre (BMSC) on this night in 2019.

To this day, we acknowledge the immeasurable grief, hardships and ongoing challenges caused by this accident and all aspects associated with it. Our hearts go out to the families of John and Emma, the students who were on the bus that day, and the many UVic students, staff and faculty who have been impacted by this tragic event.
