No Trick, Hallowe'en Can Help Others Eat

Be ready to greet a 20-something student instead of a tiny trick-or-treater this Sunday night. UVic students won’t be playing tricks when they ask for food donations. They are joining 10,000 volunteers in 73 communities across Canada by donning costumes this Hallowe’en and going door to door saying “Trick or Eat!” for the national annual Meal Exchange campaign. The Victoria event supports the Mustard Seed Food Bank.
This year’s event begins Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. in room B150 of the Bob Wright Centre. Volunteers should bring their own food-carrying bags and come in costume to pick up directions to their canvassing routes. Students will canvass neighbourhoods around the university until approximately 8 p.m. Further information about the national non-profit youth-driven program is available at www.mealexchange.com.
