Barack Obama Inauguration Experts

The following University of Victoria faculty members are available to discuss the Jan. 20 US Presidential Inauguration.

Colin Bennett (Political Science) can discuss the significance of how Barack Obama has chosen to orchestrate the inauguration, the meaning of the ceremony and what Canadians can expect from Obama’s presidency in the future.

Janni Aragon (Political Science) conducts research involving American politics and gender and politics. She can discuss the significance of the inauguration, the roles that women and youth played in the election of Barack Obama and the impact that his election to president will have on the United States.

Jason Colby (History) teaches modern American history and U.S. foreign relations. He is available to discuss the historical implications of the inauguration of Barack Obama, as well as the possible foreign policy changes that it might bring.
