Enviro Activist, Actor Ed Begley, Jr. To Speak At UVic
Few television stars head for the bike racks rather than valet parking when they arrive at celebrity events. Actor and activist Ed Begley, Jr., however, walks the talk when it comes to sustainability, regularly turning up to Hollywood functions with bike helmet in hand.
Begley will be speaking and signing copies of his new book, Living Like Ed, at the University of Victoria’s Farquhar Auditorium on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.
Star of the hit reality show, Living with Ed, Begley is considered an environmental leader in the Hollywood community. The HGTV show follows Begley and his family as they try to make their home, and the homes of their celebrity friends, more environmentally friendly.
“We are delighted to be bringing Ed Begley, Jr. to UVic,” said UVic Sustainability Coordinator Sarah Webb. “This community event is a unique opportunity to hear from a lively and passionate speaker on how we can all live more eco-conscious lifestyles.”
To purchase tickets, visit the UVic Ticket Centre website at www.auditorium.uvic.ca or call 250-721-8480. For more information, contact UVic Sustainability Coordinator Sarah Webb at 250-721-6678 or swebb@uvic.ca.
Begley’s presentation is sponsored by the UVic Office of Campus Planning and Sustainability and the District of Saanich.
