The UVic Faculty of Education is celebrating 100 years of preparing educators in Victoria with a range of events that began with a forum and celebratory dinner on Oct.

Two outstanding classroom leaders who are known for their dedication and innovation to the teaching process have been given Alumni Awards for Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. Bonnie Leadbeater (psychology) and Dr. Anne Marshall (education) have been named the 2015 recipients of the Provost’s Engaged Scholar Award.
The summer of 2014 was a remarkable period in Canadian legal history. Within the span of three weeks, two Supreme Court of Canada judgments involving aboriginal title and treaty
rights were brought down. Together, they significantly altered fundamental elements of national governance and current plans for economic development, as well as the legal landscape relating to
land and resource entitlements.
Teaching professor Jin-Sun Yoon in the University of Victoria’s School of Child and Youth Care has been recognized for her exceptional teaching and educational leadership with the
2015 3M National Teaching Fellowship.
