The Transgender Archives welcomes everyone who is interested in the history of activism and research by and for trans and gender nonconforming people.
We are located on the lower level of the University of Victoria Libraries’ William C. Mearns Centre for Learning, in Special Collections and University Archives, a beautiful and serene location that includes a reading room, classroom, exhibit space and a climate-controlled vault. Special Collections and University Archives serve as a research and teaching resource for students, faculty, and the community at large.
Each year, scholars and visitors from around the globe use these invaluable resources. The resulting scholarship contributes to the continued expansion of human knowledge and understanding.
