Consent Coalition

The Consent Coalition works collaboratively to prevent sexualized violence at the University of Victoria. It is comprised of four core departments: the Office of Student Life (OSL)Equity & Human Rights (EQHR), in conjunction with the University of Victoria Students’ Society (UVSS) and their Anti-Violence Project (AVP). The coalition works in partnership with Vikes Athletics & Recreation (ATRS)Residence Services (RESS)International Centre for Students (ICS), and the Student Wellness Centre (SWC).

The coalition actively works to raise awareness among the student population specifically. It provides them with information and tools to support them in preventing the occurrence of sexualized violence and to know what to do, and where to go, when it does occur.

Consent Awareness Day

We invite you to participate in Consent Awareness Day 2023! As part of our effort to build a campus that is free from gender-based and sexualized violence, we are offering support resources to students, faculty, and staff that allow them to receive care, as well as recognize, prevent, and respond to instances of violence in ways that are effective and informed by the work of local experts and care providers.
