In Memoriam: Dr. Aegean Leung

With sadness, we recognize the death of Dr. Aegean Leung on October 21, 2015, a short time after her diagnosis of leukemia.

Dr. Leung joined CAPI as a Japan Program Visitor during the 2009-10 academic year. Her time here at the Centre was spent studying women and entrepreneurship in Japan. At the time of her death, she was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney Business School.

CAPI’s Japan Program Visitors came to UVic as visiting scholars and provided Japan programming for the Centre while there was no Japan research chair. The program began after the retirement of Joseph Kess in 2007 and continued until the arrival of Mary Yoko Brannen in 2012 as the inaugural Jarislowsky East Asia (Japan) Chair.
