UVic Interfaith Chapel

The University of Victoria Interfaith Chapel was completed in 1985. It is used primarily by officially recognised university chaplains of Multifaith Services to administer to the religious and spiritual needs of the university community. The chapel was built with the intention of being a sacred space for prayer, meditation, spiritual practice, and worship for the campus community.

Location

The Interfaith Chapel and the University Garden of Remembrance (adjacent to the chapel) are both located next to Parking Lot #6 on the outer Ring Road.

Parking is only free on Sundays.

Usage

The chapel is available to the public for weddings, funerals, and sometimes christenings. The chapel is not available for meetings, workshops, speakers, seminars, musicals, recitals, plays, religious shows, or external church or religious organizational ceremonial services.

The two main areas of interest (besides the lovely walk around Finnerty Garden) are the main Ceremonial/Worship Hall and the Meditation Room.

You are welcome to use either space for personal contemplation, prayer, meditation, or just for quiet time, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm; unless there is a prior chapel booking. Check the Chapel Calendar to see what's booked in the chapel and where there is an availability.
