I have subject responsibility for Medieval Studies, Philosophy, and Political Science.

Michael was born in BC, studied Classics at Concordia University (BA), and got an MA in Medieval Studies from Toronto. His thesis was on the role of monasteries in Charlemagne's cultural and political project of empire building. He completed an MLS at Toronto. He has written for academic and popular publications, has been involved in professional associations in many positions, has served on the editorial boards of academic journals, and delivers community talks via the Speakers' Bureau. He has experience in a number of academic and professional libraries as a rare books librarian and as a law librarian, and currently is Medieval Studies, Philosophy, and Political Science Librarian at the Universityof Victoria.
