Chinese Canadian Historical Society of BC Scholarships

In honour of Professor Ed Wickberg, its founding president, the Chinese Canadian Historical Society of British Columbia annually offers two $500 scholarships to current students in post-secondary institutions in British Columbia who have demonstrated promise of research achievement in the history of the Chinese in British Columbia.  Normally, one scholarship will be offered to a graduate student and one to an undergraduate.

Subject areas may be from the Fine Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences, but are not restricted to them.  Some preference may be given to research that draws on oral history, uses Chinese language sources, and/or involves members of Chinese Canadian communities. Evidence of promise may take the form of a thesis, term paper, research paper, electronic recording, photo collection, or other presentation.  Work in progress may be considered.

Detailed information about eligibility and application forms may be found on the CCHSBC website: www.cchsbc.ca

The deadline for submissions for 2016 is 30 June 2016.
