The Department of Gender Studies is seeking a Research Assistant to begin August 15th concluding December 31st with the possibility of some follow-up hours in the Spring 2025 term. This position will support the chair of Gender Studies in determining the feasibility and needs assessment for a micro certificate to be offered in Gender Based Violence/ Intimate Partner Violence. The rate of pay is $19.85/ hour + vacation (4%) and benefits (2%). The RA position is 100 hours. This position is available to a senior undergraduate student who has successfully completed GNDR 100 and 300 and is pursuing a Major or Minor in Gender Studies.
The RAs will be responsible for: 1. Communications with several organizations in the City of Victoria and the Island engaged in the field of GBV/IPV. 2.Developing an annotated bibliography on significant reports, studies and papers relevant to the field. 3. Participating and supporting the convening of working groups amongst participant community organizations. 4. Planning and coordinating meetings.
