District heat loop valve repairs – ELW, ECS, EOW, PCH, ELL, & BWC -
Extension of shutdown

Facilities Management and Aral Construction are currently working on the
renovation of the boiler room in the ELW building. As part of this work, we
have recently replaced a series of failed and leaking valves on the district
hot water loop.

These valves required us to drain the hot water loops serving ELW, ECS,
EOW, PCH, ELL, & BWC. We have refilled these lines and are in the process
of slowly bringing them up to temperature and gently reestablishing flow
in all the loops.

Because of the complexity and size of the system this progressing slowly.
We anticipate that areas of these buildings on this notice will slowly
reestablish hot water over the course of the rest of the week. Hot water
may not be available at full temperature in your area for several days.
We sincerely apologise for the impacts to your work as we make these
critical repairs to the infrastructure which supports our buildings.
