University District Real Estate Strategy
UVic has a vision for a new mixed-use university district. It will make the UVic campus more inclusive, connected and accessible, and diversify revenue streams to support university priorities in the years to come.
About Queenswood Campus
The 15-acre Queenswood Cmapus is located at 2472 Arbutus Rd. The Ocean-Climate Building opened in 2018 and is home to both ocean and climate researchers from Ocean Networks Canada and Environment Canada.
New Child Care Centre
The university has been providing child care services to the UVic community for over 40 years and there continues to be a significant demand for additional services from staff, faculty and students as well as the wider community.
An area of the existing Queenswood building will be renovated into a new child care centre. UVic currently offers 116 child care spaces on campus. The new Child Care Centre will increase UVic’s supply of child care spaces to 153 and help meet the immense demand for childcare within the campus community.The project is supported with funding by the Childcare BC New Spaces Fund.
