Christy Clark's cynical ethnic-vote targeting should come as no surprise

The BC Liberal government's suggestion in a leaked memo that "quick wins" can be gained by correcting "historical wrongs" done to ethnic communities is the focus of a Toronto Star article that quotes a forthcoming paper from Matt James. In the paper, James argues that "such apologies and commemorations have become popular among Canadian governments because of their relative shallowness as political gestures."
