In fall 2022, the University of Victoria will be launching our first Equity Action Plan. One of the tools being explored to encourage the development of bold actions is Action Labs. Action Labs put into practice an equity-centred design approach by bringing together diverse stakeholders to find new solutions to barriers at a systems level.
On June 1, everyone is invited to a ceremony to mark the one-year anniversary of the discovery by the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation of more than 200 unmarked graves at the Kamloops Residential School.

One year after Qwul’sih’yah’maht Robina Thomas became UVic’s first associate VP Indigenous, the Board of Governors has approved her appointment as vice-president. As VP Indigenous, Robina will continue the critically important, complex and difficult work to decolonize UVic and contribute to reconciliation in a meaningful way.
March 31 is the International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to raise awareness of the discrimination faced by Trans+ people worldwide, an opportunity for Trans+ people to celebrate — and for everyone else to reaffirm collective and individual commitments to allyship and to honouring and empowering Trans+ people.
